The Dharma Academy of North America (DĀNAM) invites you to consider submitting a proposal for the annual meeting to be held concurrently with the 2025 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Religion in Boston, Massachusetts.

Conference Theme

Freedom: Philosophy, Practice, and the Future.  The DĀNAM Steering Committee invites proposals for panels consisting of a maximum of four papers. Papers are invited to reflect on philosophy, method, and ontology in dharma resources that align with the Presidential Theme for the 2025 AAR Annual Meeting of “Freedom.” The content can be from philosophy, theology, psychology, anthropology, mythology, and the arts using forms of textual analysis and the arts, and to engage with the theme of freedom at various levels of being such as material, mental, bodily, social-political, cosmological, and spiritual.  We welcome complete panel proposals, as well as individual paper proposals for peer review.

  • Deadline: April 10, 2025 at 11:59 PM (pst)
  • Format: All in person, face to face
  • Conference will begin on Friday morning before the AAR
