LabEx HaStec

The LabEx HaStec studies, in a pluridisciplinary way, the historical interweaving of Knowledge, Techniques, and Beliefs – a structuring element of human cultures and societies – following a chronological arc that extends from Antiquity to the 21st century. Each of these three terms is understood according to a regulated polysemy, which transcends the limits of the history of sciences and techniques, or of the history of religions, and integrates the plurality of knowledges, the diverse modes of belief (including in the economic field), and unfolds the meanings of the word “ technique ” in a vast spectrum that includes rhetoric and the intellectual (argumentative, exegetical) and spiritual techniques. Particular attention is paid to the Digital Humanities.
